Benefits of Using a Decorative Window Film
We all want our home décor to look stylish and attractive and for this purpose, we use different materials to decorate our homes. One material that is used in lots of homes for decorative purposes is a window film. A window film looks very simple and elegant and many people use it for decorating their homes and offices. Using decorative window films has many advantages, some of which are highlighted below:
Privacy
The most important feature of a window film is that it offers privacy to homeowners. Hence, whether you live in an apartment, flat, or condo, you can use these films to protect your privacy. No one wants others peeking into their windows and examining the situation at their home. Thus, a window film would be a perfect way to stop them. A decorative window film blocks the view from the window and is a good choice for homeowners who want to maintain their privacy.
Flexibility
Flexibility is another big advantage of using a window film. A window film is available in a variety of styles and designs, and you can customize the film according to your requirements. You can choose the size, style, pattern, and decoration which complement your window.
Window films are also very durable and easy to clean and thus, there is no maintenance required. You have the flexibility of changing the look of your windows by easily applying and removing it whenever you want to. The good thing is that the film doesn’t damage the window material.
Access to Daylight
Most people argue that blinds or curtains are enough for protecting their privacy, but these materials block the entrance of sunlight into the house. Sunlight is very important for one’s health and to reap the benefits, one should get exposure to sunlight daily. Daylight can make a lot of things easier for you such as boosting your energy levels, providing vitamin D for stronger and healthier bones, and keeping you active throughout the day.
A window film doesn’t block the entrance of sunlight. Instead, it allows some amount of light to pass through it. However, if you are bothered by sunlight in bedrooms, you can use tinted window films to keep the room dark.
Weather Protection
Window films are the best way to save energy during hot or cold seasons. These films can keep the heat from entering the house in the summer and prevent cold air from entering in the winters. This means you don’t have to spend a lot on electricity bills due to the use of air conditioners or heaters.
Tinted window films can be used in summers to protect the house from heat, while frosted window films are ideal for winters as they absorb and radiate heat into the home to keep it warm.
Protection of Other Items in the House
Decorative window films also protect the color of furniture and other household items from fading. This is because some window films block the harmful sun rays from entering the house.
Some people don’t love the idea of using curtains or blinds in some rooms, but they often complain about their furniture and rugs being faded due to sunlight. You can use the window films to protect your household items from being faded. Also, the window film doesn’t damage the window material and prevents the splintering of glass in case of breakage or a severe storm.
Affordability
Window films are very affordable and give a high-end and luxurious look to your place without you having to spend a huge amount. Most of the luxury houses and offices use these films to decorate their places, and they look quite stylish too. You can choose from a variety of patterns and styles to match your window’s design and requirements.

Can decorative film be removed?
- If you are looking for daytime or nighttime privacy but don’t want to reduce natural light levels, a decorative window film is for you. It works perfectly in both domestic and commercial settings, including banks, restaurants, health clubs, hotel foyers, conference rooms and in office partitioning. Businesses are increasingly using glass walls as an internal partitioning as this brings natural light into offices creating greater work productivity, as well as the illusion of more space. So by applying a decorative film to the glass walls you are allowing light to come in, whilst still offering privacy. Residential applications include bathrooms, entry doors and sidelights, and work on the same premise.
How do I look after my windows, after having window tint installed?
- You first need to leave it for 30 days, and then just clean your windows as you normally would. It is advised to use a window cleaning solution and a soft, lint-free cloth. Don’t use abrasive materials that could scratch or damage the film, and if possible use non-ammonia based window cleaners.
How long will my decorative film last?
- This depends on where the window is situated and in what type of environment, as well as where are you living, but 3-5 years is normal. When it is not in direct sunlight, or exposed to excessive U.V. rays, our decorative films can last for over 10 years.
How long will it take for my decorative film to “dry”?
- Depending on weather conditions and the film type, it can take up to 30 -45 days for the film to fully dry and cure. Whilst it is drying and curing, you may notice small water bubbles and/or a hazy appearance in the film. Don’t worry though, this is normal and will disappear over time. Once completely dry, your window film will be virtually unnoticeable and will look as if the glass originally had your chosen pattern/style for many years.
Will my decorative window film block UV rays and prevent fading?
- The decorative film is made specifically for decoration and privacy. There are different causes for fading, such as different light rays and heat and our decorative films do not reduce all of them significantly. However, certain decorative films do have qualities that block UV rays, so when you are choosing your pattern, please let us know if UV blocking is important to you.
Will my film fade and bubble?
- Over 3-5 years, you may notice a change in the coloring of your decorative film. Fading will occur over time as is normal with anything that is exposed to the suns heat and light for any amount of time.
Can a decorative film be installed on my shower door?
- Yes- but it is recommended that the film is installed on the outside of the door, and it must be on a flat glass surface.
Does decorative film give privacy during the daytime & nighttime?
- Almost all of our films provide privacy during the night, as well as the day and the level of privacy vary according to which film you choose. If you have any questions about the level of privacy a film provides, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
How would my window film be installed?
- Window film is professionally installed by our well-trained and experienced installers. Most decorative films are designed to be installed on the inside of your windows or glass doors.
The first step is the preparation, which includes cleaning the windows thoroughly as well as the immediate surrounding workspace – this could mean that furniture needs to be removed, window treatments removed or protecting the flooring below. Then the film is sprayed with a special mounting solution which will allow it to be properly positioned on the glass. Using professional tools and techniques, we will then form the film to the glass and trim the edges of the film for a perfect fit. To complete the process, we use a final squeegee technique to ensure that the film is in place.
Can decorative film be removed?
- Yes. This of course is a great advantage, especially to those renting a property, and most landlords do not object to their tenants’ installation of film when they find out that the product can be removed. Removal is easy – just peel away the film from a corner and pull it away from the glass. Any adhesive that is left on the glass can be removed with soapy water and razor blade or other sharp edge.
